The Jewish cemetery in Janów was established in the 18th century. Until 1790, deceased Jews from nearby Częstochowa were buried here. During World War II, the cemetery was devastated by the Germans.
About 10 tombstones have been preserved on the area of 1.2 ha, the oldest of which dates back to 1791. There are also fragments of about 10 damaged matzevot.
In the 1990s, the cemetery was renovated. At that time, a fence and an entrance gate were built. At the gate there is a commemorative plaque with the inscription: "Historic Jewish cemetery from the 18th century. Fence and renovation from the Jacek Salzberg Family Foundation, US citizens - who survived the Nazi Holocaust."
